Hamilton County has designated May 15th as the last official day of school for the year. Teachers will still be reaching out to support your students until this date.

Each grade level will have a two-hour window during the week of May 8th – 15th to come by the school to pick up report cards, drop off library books, and to say goodbye to teachers. This will be a drive through process in the front entrance of the school. For your continued safety and the safety of our staff, we will exchange items through the car window and say goodbye to teachers. You will need to remain in your cars during the process, as no one will be allowed to get out or come in the building.

We hope by providing these dates now, your child will be able to participate.

Friday, May 8 – Kindergarten, 12pm – 2pm

Monday, May 11 – 1st Grade, 12pm – 2pm

Tuesday, May 12 – 2nd Grade, 12pm – 2pm

Wednesday, May 13 – 3rd Grade, 12pm – 2pm

Thursday, May 14 – 4th Grade, 12pm – 2pm

Friday, May 15 –5th grade, 10am - 12 pm due to parade (see below)****

Drop-Off Items: Library Books, Textbooks, and Chromebooks.

What if I cannot make my child’s grade level closure time?

We fully expect that some families may have scheduling conflicts and will not be able to drive through to say goodbye. You may pick up your child’s materials in grade level bins at the front entrance any time the week of May 18-22.

I have more than one student, do I have to come to the school multiple times?

For safety, it was necessary to stagger the pick-up days and times to minimize faculty on campus at the same time. Only one grade level’s teachers will be present at a time. Please know that these are optional events. If you prefer to wait to pick up all your children’s materials at the same time, we ask that you come to the school the week of May 18-22. Student materials will be in bins by grade level at the front entrance.

Can I keep the school’s iPad or Chromebook for the summer?

All 5th graders and students who are not returning to Donaldson are asked to return devices. Returning students have the option of keeping the school’s device to continue learning and practice with digital platforms throughout the summer.  PLEASE NOTE:  You are keeping the device with the knowledge that if anything happens to the device, YOU WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE.

Thank you for your cooperation throughout this time! We miss our families and students and can’t wait to see you soon.

Schools closing due to the COVID-19 virus and limits imposed on group gatherings have altered plans for Pre-K and kindergarten registration for the fall in Hamilton County Schools. Registration opportunities are now scheduled in May for parents to register their children for the 2020-2021 school year.

Pre-K application day is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. until noon. The applications will be handled in a drive-through format that will not require parents to leave their cars. Families are strongly encouraged to download an application from the district website, stop by the Central Office, or pick-up an application on the front porch in the Pre K bin before May 13.

We ask you to arrive at the school on May 13 with a complete application and the required documents. Completed paperwork will ensure a quick process and limited waiting in the drive-thru line. We regret that parents and children will not be able to come in and visit the school during this year's registration. Still, we want to be safe and follow all CDC guidelines, including social distancing and individual protection at this time. We hope to welcome you to our schools for a visit soon. Get your application and complete it early to save time in the drive-thru drop-off on May 13.  AS USUAL, ALL PRE-K APPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS.  We highly encourage you to be here at 8:30 am with all of your needed items (as listed below) along with your completed application.  An application is not considered complete until ALL OF THE ITEMS ARE RECEIVED.

Required documents:
Original Birth Certificate (child must be four years old on or before August 15)
Child's Social Security Card
Current Immunization Record
Current Physical Record
2 Proofs of Residency
2 Proofs of Income
