Principal's Bio
Hamilton County Schools has selected Ms. Jennifer Brownlee, a 28 year education veteran, to be the new principal at Calvin Donaldson Elementary School.
“Calvin Donaldson Elementary School has built a strong
history of innovation and learning,” Brownlee said. “I am so
thrilled to become part of its next chapter as together, our
community will strive to empower our learners through
rigorous academic learning experiences within a creative,
supportive and collaborative learning environment. Every day, our students and staff will learn something new that brings value to our lives and to the
world around us.”
Over the past 6 years, Brownlee has served as an administrator at Orchard Knob Middle, Harrison
Elementary, Orchard Knob Elementary. Her career began in
1995 as a teacher in Nashville, followed by Atlanta and St. Louis before arriving in
Chattanooga in 2002. Since 2005, she has served HCS as a teacher and literacy coach. She also gives back to the industry by serving as an
adjunct college professor and educational consultant. Brownlee holds a B.S. degree in Elementary
Education from Auburn University and a M.Ed. degree in Educational Leadership from
Trevecca Nazarene University.
“My entire life has been shaped by my learning experiences, and as an educator, it is
my privilege to invest my time, energy and resources in building learning opportunities
for others- whether it is for students, their families, faculty and staff or our community,”
Brownlee said. “Seeing others grow and add value to their lives as a result of our time
together continues to be one of my greatest joys. I commit to the vision and mission of Calvin Donaldson Elementary, and will seek to establish our motto that 'Every child deserves a CHAMPION!'"
