School Closed

UPDATE AS OF 04/13:
Governor Lee issued a statement today that has us still under "stay at home" orders until April 30th.  The HCDE Board of Ed has a meeting later this week and most likely plans for the remainder of the year will be a high point of discussion.  But as of now, we are out until April 30th.  Please stay safe and let us know if you need anything.

UPDATE AS OF 03/25:

We are sure you have already heard, but Governor Lee announced yesterday that schools were to remain closed until
FRIDAY, APRIL 24TH.

Students will return on Monday, April 27th.
Hang in there families!!  We will get thru this together.  We are here for YOU!
-------------------------------------------------------------------

For the safety of all students and staff, all HCDE schools will be closed until Monday April 13th.  Students will return on Monday April 13th.

We will have staff available to answer your PHONE CALLS ONLY between the hours of 10am - 2pm Monday - Friday.  If these hours should change, we will post it here as well as our Facebook page.

We understand that you are in need of work for your students.  Our faculty and staff are working diligently to "virtual" learning sites up and running for our 3rd - 5th graders and paper work packets for our PK - 2nd graders.  Students that are in need of paper work packets can pick those up on the front school porch on Monday's.  They will be in bins with lids by grade level.  Please only take what you need for your student or a neighbor in need as we are only making enough copies for 1 per student.  Your child's teacher will be in touch with you about other learning opportunities with them if you have access to a device and the internet.

Parents, this is a GREAT time for you to engage with your child.  We understand this is uncharted territory for you (and us as well).  It doesn't have to be all bad.  Take the time to sit down with your child, read a book, write a story, learn about what they do during the day.  Think out of the box.  Have them write a story about your favorite recipe.  Do a math problem about that recipe.  Teach a history lesson about an experience you had as a child.  Do an art project.  Enjoy these days together.  Make learning fun.  You will be amazed at the things they can teach YOU!

Please feel free to reach out to us if you need anything.  We have many resources available if you are in need of food, if you need learning packets delivered.  Please reach out.  We are still here for you!
