Bio

Hi! I am very excited to be teaching second grade at Donaldson this year. I was born in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. I knew when I was about 14 that I wanted to be a teacher. I babysat a lot, taught Children's Church, and I even had a day camp at my house for kids one Summer as a teenager. I love kids and I love to teach them new things. When it was time for college, I moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee. At UT, I was in the Pride of the Southland marching band. It was such a fun experience to travel all over the country and go to some of the BEST football games (and bowl games too!) After graduating from UT, I taught in Alcoa, TN for a year to earn my Master's degree in Elementary Education. I got married after my first year of teaching to my wonderful husband, Taj, who swept me off my feet. I taught in Knoxville for 5 years before Taj and I decided to move back to Chattanooga. We live in St. Elmo and we love our house and our neighborhood. We spend a lot of time working on our house because it is olllllld! When we first moved back, I taught at East Side for two years. When I became a mom, I left teaching to stay at home with my son, Neyland. A little under two years later my daughter, Meadow was born. They are the best thing that's ever happened to me! They are both so much fun and I love watching them grow. After several years at home I went back to teaching at Battle. This year I had the opportunity to teach second grade at Donaldson and I am so grateful for the opportunity.
